Over the past two days, I’ve shared how this collaboration began — first the story, then a real example from our early video series. Today, I want to highlight a problem almost every speaker faces, often without realising it.
Most talks fail before the speaker even opens their mouth.
Not because the speaker lacks experience. Not because the content is weak. But because the preparation starts in the wrong place. This short dialogue from our early work captures the issue with clarity (and here’s the video too):
Dialogue #6 — Why Do Most Talks Fail?
JOHN: Here's a tough one. Why do most talks fail before the speaker even opens their mouth? Troy?
TROY: Because they didn't start at the end. No objective. No destination. No clarity. I fix that — before a single word is written.
JOHN: And that's why he's your 24/7 coach.
This is one of the central ideas in the trilogy: clarity first, content second. When you know your destination, everything else becomes easier. Your structure, delivery, confidence, and relevance.
Tomorrow, we’ll look at another common challenge speakers face, and how Troy approaches it with the same clarity and practicality.
